Associations of Mining in Zambia

There are many (too many according to Government) Associations who are trying increase productivity, assist members with useful information and now are developing web presence in order to better serve their members. 

Business and Professional Organizations

The strengthening and expansion of Zambia's economy has seen growth in the number of business and professional organizations in the country. Chief amongst these are: 

• The Zambia Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI)
• The Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM)
• The Economic Association of Zambia (EAZ)
• The Zambia Institute of Certified Accountants (ZICA)
• The Geological Society of Zambia
• Emerald Miners & Semi Precious Stones Association of Zambia
• Lundazi Gemstone Miners Association
• North Western Miners Association
• Association of Zambian Woman in Mining
• Kalomo Miners Association
• Luapula Small Scale Miners Association
• Mkushi Small Scale Miners Association
• Mpika Small Scale Miners Association
• Association for the Empowerment of Woman in Gemstone and Mineral Mining

The Zambia Association of Manufacturers in particular represents a large number of companies that can offer a range of supporting services to the mining  and mineral industries, thus permitting incoming companies to operate on an efficient and low-cost basis. 

 

Due to the monolithic nature of the mining industry in the past (predominantly copper), no Chamber of Mines has been established, but with the growing involvement of private mining companies, the development of such a body is anticipated.
