OUR GOAL
To see an increase number of women participating in
mining and national development in general.
MISSION STATEMENT
To advocate for equitable participating of women in
Mining and National development and that the mining sector in the region
cannot have the desired impact without the full integration of women.
AFWINGMM'S OVERALL OBJECTIVES
-To mobilize women in mining in the formal and
informal association and the mining sector to be active members of the
association and the mining sector in general.
-To establish through research ,meetings, seminars and
workshops and identifying the need and problems faced by women miners
and re-address them.
- To lobby for the support and recognition of women
miners ,nationally , regionally and internationally.
-To identity training and technical needs of women
miners and in collaboration with relevant and interested organizations ,
conduct training programs to meet these needs.
-To promote and encourage women miners to use methods
that minimizes environmental degradation.
-To set up a loan revolving find and collateral security
fund to enable women miners to access the necessary finances and credit
for their mining operation.
-To work with established financial institutions to
enable women to access credit.
- To lobby for the acceptance of mining claims as
collateral security for loans by financial institutions.
-To interact and network with institutions involved in
mining and trading and have interests similar to those of the association
nationally ,regionally and internationally in order to share experiences
and ideas in mining and trading.
- To establish a data base, documentation/ informational
and library center and contain information and library centre and contain
information on mining nationally, regionally and internationally to
enable women miners to access and use the information for the their
benefit .
- To pull resources where necessary for the benefit of
members.
-To establish links with overseas technical advisory
service organizations in order to access volunteer technical experts.
-To facilitate where possible the market of members
mining products nationally, regionally and internationally.
-To carry out any such activities as would enhanced the
position of women miners and traders in Zambia.
